GOLF CLUB STABLEFORD COMPETITION. (“Times-Age” Special.) A Stableford competition was played on the Gum Grove links during the weekend and was won by H. Lovegrove, with L. J. Benton second. United Wartime Service. There was a large congregation at the Town Hall last evening when the united wartime service was held. The preacher was the Rev. Knowles-Smith who took for his subject “The Vision for Tomorrow.” The prayers were led by the Rev. W. S. Young and the Rev. J. R. Higgs read the lesson. The anthem “As Torrents in Summer” was rendered by the combined choirs. Miss Collins was the accompanist. Soldiers’ Dance. A very successful soldiers’ dance, was held in the Town Hall on Saturday night when there was a large attendance. The music was provided by Mrs Ashton’s Orchestra, and Mr Talbot was M.C. The lucky spot dance was won by Pte. Fellows and Miss Fuge. The supper arrangements were , in the hands of the Junior Patriotic Committee. COSY THEATRE "MOON OVER MIAMI.” The programme for Wednesday night at the Cosy Theatre will be headed bv the brilliant musical comedy “Moon Over Miami,” featuring Betty Grable, Don Ameche, Carol Landis and Robert Cummings The picture ran for five weeks in Auckland.
