A request was made by drovers and others requesting the Council to erect approaches to both ends of a small bridge on the Ponatahi Road. After discussion it was decided that the County chairman and the County overseer inspect the site, with power to act.
It was decided that a return of details of wheat growing lands be furnished to the District Council of the National Council of Primary Production. It was resolved that the County apply to become a member of the New Zealand Counties’ Co-operative Insurance Company, Limited. Mr H. J. McKenzie reported that good progress was being made with chimney repairs and restoration. The acting water race overseer to the Wairarapa South County reported as follows: —During the past month there was a fair flood in the river, which closed up the cut with big stones, drying up the main race. There is going to be a fair amount of work to get the cut back to normal. Some filling has been carted to the race on Mr G. Allen’s property.
