EPIDEMIC OF MENINGITIS IN AUSTRALIA.
(By Telegraph—Press Association— Copyright) CANBERRA. September 15. Australia’s epidemic of cerebrospinal meningitis is over, the Commonwealth Director-General of Health, Dr. J. H. Cumpston, believes. It appeared to follow precisely the same course as the epidemic of the first war, but superior modern knowledge m the use of" sulnhanilamide lowered the death-rate from 50 per cent in 1916 to about 15 per cent.
