AIR COMMANDER

IN AMERICAN PACIFIC FLEET, APPOINTMENT OF ADMIRAL POWERS. (British Official Wireless.) (Received This Day, Noon.) RUGBY, September 15. The United States Secretary of the Navy, Colonel Knox, has announced that Rear-Admiral John Towers will be relieved as chief of the Bureau of Aeronautics, to assume the newlycreated post of Commander of the Pacific Fleet Air Force. Rear Admiral Towers will hold the rank of Vice-Ad-miral in what is described as the “most important air command afloat.” Rear-Admiral J. McCain is relieving Rear-Admiral Towers as chief of rhe Bureau of Aeronautics.
