RAIDED BY BLENHEIM BOMBERS. FIRES SEEN FORTY MILES AWAY. (British Official Wireless.) (Received This Day, noon.) RUGBY, September 15. A New Delhi communique states: — “Blenheim bombers raided the Yenangyaung oilfields, in Central Burma, and straddled the area with bombs. Fires were seen xorty miles away. All our aircraft returned.”

Giving details of earlier attacks on Myitkyina, the communique says: “Low level attacks were made on the aerodrome, and enemy planes on the ground were damaged.”
