SPRING OFFENSIVE

RESPONSE IN MASTERTON.

FIRST AND SECOND WEEKS. “The Spring Offensive on the Home Front,” which is now in its third week, •is directing public attention to the need for making the fullest possible contributions to the National Savings Campaign. In Masterton, 631 deposits were made during the first week of the campaign, a percentage (in relation to the total number of accounts) of 20.5, and in the second week 494 deposits were recorded, the percentage being 15.6. This compares quite well with the results reported in other centres. The total number of accounts in Masterton is now 3150. In the first week the actual receipts from deposits were £658, and in the second week £431. In addition, bonds to the value of £3O and £194, respectively, were taken up. The object of the campaign is to increase the regularity of deposits to National Savings accounts.
