TRAVEL CURTAILED
PETROL & TIRE ECONOMY IN UNITED STATES.

NEW YORK, September 12. The Office of Defence Transportation has ordered sharp curtailment of travel to, football games and other sports events to conserve transportation facilities for war purposes. The action apparentlv foreshadows the abandonment of spectacles like the Rose Bowl and Cotton Bowl games for the duration of the war. Meanwhile all motorists in non-ra-tioned sections of the country have been urged to observe the same economy in using cars as is enforced in 17 eastern States in order to conserve tires till a national gasoline rationing plan .can be instituted.
