FEATHERSTON

WEDDING WARRINGTON—HOOD (“Times-Age” Special.) Masses of pink rhododendrons decorated St Andrew’s Church, Carterton, recently for the wedding of Lucy Margaret, daughter of Mr and Mrs F. S. Hood, Kahutara, and Robert Anthony, son of Mr and Mrs J. Warrington, Waihakeke.

The bride wore a trained gown of white satin, the full skirt falling to the ground from a fitting waistline. The long sleeves were gathered at the shoulder and fitted to the wrist. Tiny white buttons down the back of the frock gave a finishing touch to the dress. A coronet of orange blossoms secured the bride’s tulle veil. Her bouquet was of white camelias and carnations with graceful trails of maidenhair fern.

The bridesmaids, Miss Phyllis Hood (sister of the bride) and Miss Joyce Warrington (sister of the bridegroom), were frocked alike in pink net over taffeta, made with flowing skirts and inset on the heart-shaped bodices. The headdresses of pink net veils were held by a spray of carnations. They carried bouquets to tone. The flower girl, Noe-, line Wright, wore a pretty frock of blue. The duties of best man and groomsman were carried out by Mr R. Warrington and Mr H. Cadwallader, respectively. About one hundred guests were present at the reception in the Masonic Hall. The bride and bridegroom left later for the north. Their future home will be in Waihakeke. Personal Items. Mrs Marshall Miles, who has been visiting Mrs Tutbury, has returned to Manakau. Pilot Officer J. H. Sadler, R.N.Z.A.F., is visiting his parents, Mr and Mrs W. H. Sadler, Tauherenikau. Euchre Party. An enjoyable time was spent at the euchre party held in the Red Cross Society’s rooms yesterday afternoon, there being a good attendance of players. Miss Esma Card was the winner at cards.
