Mrs Guy Williams, of Masterton, is the guest of Mrs A. Edmunds, of Epsom, Auckland. > Mrs N. Amadio, of Martinborough, is staying with her parents, Mr and Mrs T. Green, Stanway. A motion expressing the sympathy of the Masterton Racing Club with Mr L. S. Nicol, hon. timekeeper, in his illness, was passed at the annual meeting of the club last night. The engagement is announced of Olga Dorothy, elder daughter of Mr and Mrs D. D. Sutherland, Upper Plain, Masterton, to Ross McKenzie, second son of Mr and Mrs Ross Jackson, Wangaehu, Masterton. Yesterday was the sixty-second birthday of Queen Wilhelmina of the Netherlands. Although the Queen succeeded to the throne in 1890, she dates her reign from her coming-of-age in 1898. Official advice vzas received in Feilding yesterday .reporting that Mr C. H. (Bill) Moore, son-in-law of Mr and Mrs J. Gordon Eliott, of Feilding, and formerly of Masterton, was interned in Manila.’ This is the first information that has been received regarding the safety or otherwise of Mr Moore since Manila was captured by the Japanese. Mrs Moore has been residing with her parents in Feilding.
