WAIRARAPA RACING CLUB
BUSINESS AT ANNUAL MEETING. (“Times-Age” Special.) The fifty-second annual meeting of the Wairarapa Racing Club was held in Featherston yesterday, the president, Mr J. W. Card, presiding over a fair attendance. Mr Card reported that an application had been made for compensation for the use of the course and that it was expected to hear something about the matter in the near future. The question of holding a race meeting was left to the incoming stewards to consider. Members felt they could not make any recommendation, owing to the difficult position generally in which country clubs were placed. A recommendation that the subscription should be reduced to 30s was adopted. All retiring officers and stewards were re-elected unopposed.
