WAIRARAPA COLLEGE
TEMPORARY REPAIRS BEING EFFECTED. REOCCUPATION OF GROUND FLOOR. Temporary repairs are being carried cut to the brick portion of the Wairarapa College, which was damaged in the recent earthquake. It is hoped that the repairs will be completed in time for the ground floor to be re-occupied when the school opens again on September 14, after the term holidays. _ The temporary repair work being carried out includes the strengthening of the roof generally, removal of part of one wall on the top story and of a gable end and their replacement in wood. Besides the board room, staff room, two cloak rooms and conveniences on the top floor, there are two classrooms. It is not intended to use this floor meantime. The reoccupation of the ground floor, however, will make six classrooms available for use. At a later date, there appears to be some possibility that the top story will be removed altogether.
