WOMEN’S DIVISION
MEETING AT GREYTOWN. (“Times-Age” Special.) The monthly meeting of the local Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union was held yesterday- afternoon in the Parish Hall, Greytown, when Mrs Beu presided over a good attendance of members. Used stamps were received from Mrs W. Wenden. Mrs Beu reported on the Provincial meeting she and Miss Eager had attended last week in Wellington. Members were sorry to hear of the ■extensive damage done by the earthquake to the Rest Home in Awapuni. Members were asked to bring along any fat they could spare to the next meeting to be sent to the Rest Home for soap making. Mrs. Beu read the annual report from the Advisory Board and also a message from Mrs Noel Adams, Dominion President, who is in failing health. Mrs A. Johnson, during the afternoon gave a resume of her life which was very interesting. Mrs Vinson entertained the audience with a sketch called “The Bitter End.” The competition for the best bloom resulted:—Mrs D. Ingley 1 and 3, Mrs W. Hutchings 2. The hostesses were Mesdames A. Haigh, Bensemen, Linton and Miss Udy.
