REGENT THEATRE
— —- “A YANK ON THE BURMA ROAD.” Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer have always been renowned for the topicality of their film productions, and their latest, “A Yank on the Burma Road, which will be shown tonight at the Regent Theatre, maintains their reputation in that respect. A new and forceful personality, Barry Nelson, is introduced to the public as the hero, an opposite him is Laraine Day. As the name indicates, the story tells of war in the Orient, and it is packed with thrilling sequences which show the risks run by those who took the truck convoys through to China, despite Japanese bombers and troops. There is an excellent supporting programme.
