GAINED BY BRITISH SUBMARINES DESTRUCTION OF ENEMY SHIPS. IN MEDITERRANEAN & OFF NORWAY. LONDON, August 24. British submarines have gained further successes in . the Mediterranean and the North Sea. An Admiralty communique states that in the Central Mediterranean a medium-sized enemy supply ship, which had been bombed and stopped by aircraft, was sunk by a British submarine. Off the Norwegian coast another submarine attacked and is believed to have sunk the leading merchant ship in an enemy convoy.
