DENTAL CLINIC

MEETING OF COMMITTEE.

APPOINTMENT OF OFFICERS.

A meeting of the committee of the Central School Dental Clinic was held in the Central School last evening. Representatives of the Solway, St. Bride's, St. Patrick’s and the East schools and the Central Parent’s Association were present. Mr E. C. Coddington was appointed chairman and Mr P. H. Shaw secretary and treasurer. It was stated that it was’ expected that an early start would be made to provide new and better accommodation for clinic patients. The question of finance for a new twochair dental clinic was discussed, and an estimate on a pro rata basis was drawn up for discussion by the committees of the schools concerned. This matter will be finalised at a later date.

It was decided that the committee’s strength be made up to ten in number with five as a quorum. Meetings will be held quarterly and the annual meeting would take place in April. An executive committee was appointed to attend to matters concerning the clinic. It was decided to write to the Education Board and the Department of Dental Hygiene urging that an early start be made with building operations and notifying these bodies that the committee as formed would take over the control of the present clinic as requested.
