OFFICERS DECORATED. FIRST ATTACK ON OCCUPIED i EUROPE. (Received This Day, 10.25 a.m.) WASHINGTON, August 23. The Silver Star, one of the highest United States military decorations, has been awarded to Brigadier-General C. Eaker, commanding the United States Eighth Ah’ Force Bomber Command, and Colonel Frank A. Armstrong, commanding the first all-American squadron to bomb enemy-occupied Europe. Brigadier-General Eaker and Colonel Armstrong participated in the successful bombing of Rouen on August 17.
