FIRE BRIGADE BALL ENJOYABLE GATHERING. (“Times-Age” Special.) The annual ball of the local fire brigade was most enjoyable. Visiting fire brigade members were presen. Irom Masterton. Pahiatua and Woodville The Blue River Band provided the dance music. Messrs H. E Rogers, F. West and S. Daniel acted as M’s.C. . . Supper was provided by a ladies committee. A cake which was i allied was won by Fireman West. Personal Items. Mrs J. Lucas, Wellington, is the guest of her daughter, Mrs H. E. Rogers, Station Road. . Mrs Houlbrooke, Alfredcon Road, is visiting Hawke’s Bay. Mrs J. O’Brien is a visitor to me Wanganui district. Mr Jago, of the local railway stall, has been transferred' to Hastings. Mr and Mrs R. J. Jewett and family. Ilaunui, have taken up their residence in Eketahuna.
Borough Council. At a meeting of the Borough Council it was reported that the rate arrears amounted to £247. Hie Ean.< of New South Wales was granted a building permit subject to the approval of the borough inspector. It was decided to apply to the Government for ten tons-of steel for building purposes in the' business area of the town.
