CITIZENS’ COMMITTEE
ANNUAL MEETING. (“Times-Age” Special.) At the annual meeting of the Citizens' Committee, Mr W. J. Knell presided. The chairman reviewed the proceedings of the past, year, and stated that a credit balance bf about £45 was in hand. * The following officers were elected for the ensuing year:—Chairman, Mr W. J. Knell; deputy chairman, Mr R. P. George; hon. secretary, Mi’ H. Harclinge; committee, Mesdames L. Chapman, Caseley, Knell, F. B. Wright, R. F. George, Kershaw, Messrs R. Amos, J. Jolly, R. Baker, and F. B. Wright. Personal. On Thursday evening Seaman R. S. Baird was the guest of honour of the Citizens’ Committee at the Town Hall. In presenting the departing guest with a gift from the citizens and also a parcel from the Knitting Circle, the Mayor (Mr C. R. Holmes) wished Seaman Baird good luck and a safe ..’cturn. Mr Knoll (chairman of the Citizens’ Committee), and Mr N. H. Thomas (R.S.A.) also spoke.
