PRIMARY SCHOOLS
ANNUAL TOURNAMENT. (“Times-Age” Special.) WELLINGTON, This Day. A start was made at Lower Hutt on Saturday with the annual primary schools tournament between representative Rugby teams from Horowhenua, Hutt Valley, Wairarapa and Wellington. The games were played on wet grounds, which made the going fairly hard for the young players, Hutt Valley beat Wellington 12-0 in a game in which the Valley boys finished off their movements better than their opponents. Wairarapa beat Horowhenua, 17-3. The winners had the edge on their opponents more than was the case in the previous game, and though the play was always keen the issue was never really in doubt. ARMY MATCH. WAIRARAPA v MANAWATU. A match, Wairarapa Army versus Manawatu Army was played on the Carterton Showgrounds on Saturday. There'was a vcr£ large attendance. The game throughout was fast and a half-time each side had scored five points. The second half was in favour of the Wairarapa team which eventually won a hard fought game by 12 points to 8. Mr W.
