ON THREE ENEMY SHIPS R.A.F. ATTACKS CONVOY OFF 7 DUTCH COAST. GERMAN RAIDER DESTROYED OVER BRITAIN. LONDON, August 21. The R.A.F. was in action over the North Sea last night when a heavily-escorted German convoy was attacked off Holland. Hits were scored on three of the ships. All the planes returned without loss, in spite of heavy night fighter opposition. Two German planes bombed a town on the south-east coast of England today and machine-gunned people in the streets. There was some damage and a few casualties were reported. Last night one German raider was destroyed over Britain, when some bombs were dropped on the south coast. Nearly 500 fighters carried out a four-pronged sweep over northern France last evening, during which Flying Fortresses were escorted to bomb the railway yards at Amiens.
