VISIT TO RUSSIA
MR WILLKIE TO CONFER WITH M. STALIN. (By Telegraph—Press Association— Copyright) WASHINGTON, August 20. On the subject of his impending visit to Russia, Mr Wendell Willkie said the trip was his own idea, and he requested and received the President’s permission. Some •time ago, President Roosevelt asked Mr Willkie to undertake certain services. lie hopes to confer with M. Stalin and visit the battlefronts. He expects to depart in about three weeks’ time, returning by October 15. Mr Willkie had lunch with President Roosevelt at the White House.
