ALFREDTON
YOUNG FARMERS’ CLUB MONTHLY MEETING OF MEMBERS (“Times-Age” Special.) The monthly meeting of the Alfredton Young Farmers’ Club was held in the Alfredton Hall. Mr D. Parsonson gave a very interesting talk on “Trees.” He gave many instances of how the cutting down of trees and bush had impoverished big areas of land all over the world chiefly in China, America and New Zealand. The great wheat belts of America had been at one time absolutely treeless, causing tremendous gales to sweep over these lands. Mr Parsonson urged that more trees should be planted. On the motion of Mr E. Algie a vote of thanks was accorded to the speaker for his very interesting talk. Supper was served.
