ATTACK ON GERMAN BALTIC PORTS RUSSIAN & BRITISH BOMBERS IN ACTION. MANY FIRES & EXPLOSIONS.' LONDON, August 19. Germany’s Baltic ports in the east and west were bombed last night by both British and Russian bombers. / A large formation of Russian bombers raided Danzig, Konigsberg and another centre and British bombers attacked Flensburg. A number of large fires were started in Danzig and many explosions were heard. At Konigsberg a railway station was among the objectives. Many fires broke out and a number of heavy explosions occurred. All the Soviet planes returned. Besides Flensburg, British bombers attacked other targets in north-west Germany. Four bombers are missing. The Berlin radio announced that Russian planes last night bombed Eastern and Western Prussia, and that German fighter-bombers attacked military targets in Norwich. It is announced in London that a small number of enemy raiders were over East Anglia last night. Damage was slight.
