Frost in Masterton.
A frost of 6.5 degrees was registered in Masterton this morning. Prunus Blossoms. The avenue of prunus plum trees planted by the Masterton Beautifying Society along Miriam and Archer streets, Master! on, is in full blossom at present. The profusion of flowers makes a sight well worth seeing. Optimist Meeting. The fortnightly meeting of the Masterton Optimist Club was held in the Y.M.C.A. last night. The sheriff and song sessions were conducted by Optimists C. J. Carle and E. J. Esler. Impromptu speeches, which followed the tea, were thoroughly enjoyed by all taking part. Seed Production. Mr R. B. Tennent, Director of Primary Production, stated at a meeting of the Wairarapa Training Farm Committee yesterday, that the Dominion had produced sufficient seed of rape, swedes and turnips to meet the requirements of the whole of the Dominion and to also allow fox* the export of a considerable quantity.
