For the third, year in succession. Beau Pere heads the winning sires’ list for the season. Australian-bred sires did well during the year and eight of them are among the first twenty in the list published by the “Australasian.” The leading sires were Beau Pere, 50 races, £23,410 in stakes; The Buzzard, 57 races, £19,595 in stakes; Veilmond, 64 races, £18,956 in stakes; Gay Lothario, 64 races, £18,524 in stakes; Mantiboa, 33 races, £8,153 in stakes.

Beau Vite, who has retired from racing, has been withdrawn from the Epsom Metropolitan Handicap and Caulfield and Melbourne Cups.
