MOSLEM LEAGUE
SUB-COMMITTEE TO DRAFT RESOLUTION ON INDIAN POLITICAL SITUATION. IN LIGHT OF RECENT DISCUSSIONS. (British Official Wireless.) (Received This Day, 12.15 p.m.) RUGBY, August 17. The Moslem League Working Committee, meeting in Bombay today, appointed a sub-committee to draft a resolution on the Indian political situation, in light of the discussions which have already taken place, IMPROVING OUTLOOK CONSIDERABLE QUIETENING OF SITUATION. (Received This Day, 12.10 p.m.) LONDON, August 17. Reports from all parts of India indicate a considerable quietening of the situation. Only minor incidents occurred at Calcutta. The curfew at Delhi has been extended for two more days and the ban on meetings foi three days. . The Moslem League Working Committee again met and adjourned until tomorrow, when it will consider a resolution on policy.
PROTEST ACTION BY CALCUTTA NEWSPAPERS. FOURTEEN SUSPENDING PUBLICATION. (Received This Day, 12.55 p.m.) LONDON, August 17. The curfew at Allahabad has been lifted. . .. . Fourteen Calcutta Nationalist newspapers, with a total circulation of about 140,000, have decided to suspend publication on August 21 in protest against Government restrictions.
