CHECK OF COMMITMENTS. ENSURING BEST USE OF VALUABLE MATERIALS. (By Telegraph—Press Association— Copyright) (Received This Day. 11.30 a.m.) WASHINGTON, August 16 The Lend-Lease Administrator, Mr Stettinius, disclosed that all Lendlease commitments were being rechecked with a view to diverting exports to where the need is most vital, as determined by British and American strategy. Mr Stettinius explained that the purpose of this measure was to ensure that critical raw materials were allocated wherever they could be most effectively used for war purposes.
