Mrs J. G. Turnbull, of New Plymouth, is the guest of Mrs W. Darvill, Coradine Street, Masterton. Mr Frank J. H. Andrews, of Marton, a well-known stock dealer in the Rangitikei district has died at the age of 76 years. ' The death took place at Eketahuna on Saturday of Mrs Mary Elizabeth Bowyer, wife of Mr Joseph Bowyer, at the age of 70 years. The engagement is announced of Audrey Eileen Florence, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs J. Madsen, Masterton, to Trooper C. C. Will, youngest son of Mrs Will, Gisborne. At Lower Hutt the death has occurred of Mrs Fanny Thompson Lee, in her ninety-fourth year. The daughter of John Gully, the artist, she was born in Bath, England, in 1848, and came to New Zealand with her parents in the ship John Phillips, in 1851. The death occurred in the Masterton Hospital on Saturday of Clifford John Henson, twelve-year-old son of Mr and Mrs A. B. Henson, of 21 Jean Street, Masterton. The funeral will take place tomorrow, leaving the Chapel of Hyde’s Funeral Service Ltd., following a service at 2 p.m. for the Masterton Cemetery.
The death occurred last week in New Plymouth of Mr James Matthew O'Reilly, who had been Collector of Customs there for 18 years. . Mr O’Reilly, who was born at Whitianga, had been in the Government service for the past 44 years, and served in the Custom Department in Wellington, Dunedin, Auckland, Gisborne,. and Rarotonga. He is survived by his wife and five children. Mrs W. A. Michael, of Masterton, is a sister of the late Mr O’Reilly.
