OBITUARY
MRS F. LEHMSTEDT. The death occurred yesterday of Mrs Elizabeth Lehmstedt, of Mauriceville West, widow of the late Mr Felix Lehmstedt, in her 83rd year. The late Mrs Lehmstedt, who was born in Liverpool, came to New Zealand 54 years ago and had resided in the Mauriceville district for the past 50 years. Her husband predeceased her s,ome years ago. She is survived by an adopted son. The funeral will take place on Monday, leaving the late residence, following a short service at 1.30 p.m. for the Lutheran Church and thence to the Lutheran Cemetery. MRS CAROLINE; KING. The death occurred at the Masterton Hospital yesterday of Mrs Caroline King, widow of the late Mr Alfred King, of Rexwood Street, Carterton, after a long illness. The late Mrs King was born at Taita, Hutt, 78 years ago. She came to the Wairarapa with her parents, the late Mr and Mrs John Eaton, when she was eight years of age. She was a staunch member of St Mark’s Church, Carterton, and had been a member of St Mark’s Guild for 50 years. She was deeply interested in all things cultural, especially music, being one of the oldest members of the St Mark’s choir. She is survived by one sister, Mrs W. A. Renall, Carterton, and three brothers, Messrs George (Masterton), Thomas (Longbush) and Charles Eaton (Waikato). Two. sisters and two brothers predeceased her. The funeral will take place on Monday, leaving St Mark’s Church, Carterton, after a service commencing at 1 p.m., for the Clareville Cemetery. ( i
