Marking the fifth anniversary of the start of the Battle of Shanghai, the Army newspaper “Takung Pao” asserted that the nation is determined to counter-attack and soon regain that city. The “Daily News,” lamenting that China has not had a large air force since 1937, believes that the tide is definitely turning with the arrival of United States airman and expresses the hope that they will drive Japanese planes from the skies of China and carry the battle to the enemy in his own islands.
