ROTARY CLUB

BUSINESS AT WEEKLY LUNCHEON.

The weekly luncheon meeting of the Masterton Rotary Club was held at the Y.M.C.A. today. The president, Mr Norman Lee, presided over a good attendance. Leading Aircraftman Stan Tatton, R.N.Z.A.F., was a guest of the club.

The speaker for the day was the Rev. A. T. Thompson, M.A., 8.D., of Masterton. Mr Thompson was formerly Commonwealth Secretary of the British and Foreign Bible Society, and is the author of “Australia and the Bible.” Prior to going to Australia Mr Thompson was in charge of Knox Church, Masterton. The speaker took for his subject “How Britain go t her Greatest Be ok” (a report of which is published on page 2 of this issue). The address was listened to with the keenest interest and on the motion of the Ven. Archdeacon E. J. Rich a hearty vote of thanks was accorded the speaker.
