A United Press correspondent reports that Allied planes, presumably American, bombed Formosa today. A communique from General Stilwell’s headquarters says American planes bombed a Japanese aerodrome at Nanchang, shot down one enemy plane and probably another and scored hits on an airfield. One bomb fell directly on a hangar. The Chinese High Command reports continued fighting around Linchwan. Japanese attacks on rhe western suburbs were repulsed. The Japanese garrison of Chuhsien received reinforcements numbering 2,000. It has pushed northward under cover of planes and is now being engaged by the Chinese
