The Rev G. P. Cook and Mrs Cook, of Pongaroa, are visiting Masterton. Mrs R. D. McGregor has returned to Pongaroa after having visited Masterton.

Mr Percy F. Mulhane, a well-known member of the commercial community in Wellington, has died at the age of 53 years.

Mrs D. McKenzie, Elizabeth Street, Masterton. who has been associated with the St Jphn Ambulance Nursing Division over a number of years, has tendered her resignation as a member. At the monthly meeting of the executive of the Wairarapa Automobile Association, Mr R. W. R.oydhouse was re-appointed as the association’s representative on the Executive Committee of the North Island Motor Union. The funeral of the late Mr R. C. Clark, of Masterton, took place yesterday afternoon, there being a representative attendance of mourners. Among the wreaths was one from the Masterton staff of the Wairarapa Power Board. The pall-bearers were Messrs J. McKenzie, A. A. Fantham, W. A. and W. G. Russell, E. G. Camden and D. McMichael. The Masterton staff of the Social Security Department gathered at the home of the Registrar, Mr J. L. L. Wood, recently to bid farewell to Mr G. R. Ready, senior clerk, who is leaving Masterton to enter a military camp. Mr Wood presented Mr Ready with an engraved cigarette case, and in proposing the toast of his health thanked Mr Ready for his cooperation and assistance. Mr Ready suitably replied.
