WEDDING

WADHAM—NIELSEN. The marriage took place recently at St. Mark’s Church, Carterton, of Joyce Maude, elder daughter of Mr and Mrs W. Nielsen, Dalefield, and Donald, youngest son of Mr and Mrs F. Wadham, Clareville. The Rev. W. F. Stent was the officiating minister, and Mr W. Thomas presided at the organ. The bride, who was escorted by her father, wore a trained gown of cream slipper satin, made with a high neckline, and appliqued sleeves, and finished at the back with satin buttons. She carried a shower bouquet of cream roses, chrysanthemums, and maidenhair fern.

She was attended by Miss. Joan Adams, Wellington, as bridesmaid, and Dora Nielsen, sister of the bride, as flower girl. They were dressed alike in dahlia taffeta frocks gathered at the waist, with peter pan collar, and finished with self-covered buttons. They carried bouquets of pink heath and mauve violets.

Mr I. Thompson was best man. At a reception held after the ceremony, Mrs Nielsen received her guests attired in an air force costume with cyclamen hat. She also wore a cyclamen spray. She was assisted by Mrs L. Joseph, sister of the bridegroom, who wore a grey ensemble, with a red shoulder spray. The bride travelled in grey with black accessories. She carried I a Canadian skunk stole, the gift of the bridegroom.
