FEATHERSTON
RAINFALL RECORD TWENTY-TWO WET DAYS. (“Times-Age” Special.) The rainfall in Featherston during July totalled 8.99 inches. There were 22 wet days and the heaviest fall was 2.78 inches on July 13. EUCHRE PARTY COMPETITION WINNERS. The euchre party held in aid of the patriotic funds in the Red Cross Society’s rooms yesterday afternoon was well attended, those present spending a most enjoyable time. Mrs Kinsey was the winner at cards. Competitions were won by Mrs Cross and'Miss Kelliher. The Bomber Bond went to Miss Yvonne Jansen. Donations were received from Mesdames Cross and M. Rasmussen and Miss E. Card. Personal Items. Mr and Mrs Grant, Wellington, were weekend guests of Mr and Mrs Hunter. Sister M. Cundy is home on leave, having recently returned from service overseas. Vital Statistics. There were 5 births, 1 marriage and 2 deaths registered in Featherston in July. COSY THEATRE “SUSPICION.” The programme at the Cosy Theatre tomorrow night will be headed by the sensational picture, “Suspicion,” which is one of the finest mystery dramas ever brought to the screen and in which Joan Fontaine and Cary Grant are seen at their best.
