TRIAL OF SABOTEURS
ENDED IN UNITED STATES. DEATH PENALTY ANTICIPATED. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) WASHINGTON, August 1. The trial of the' eight Nazi saboteurs ended after 18 days. The military commission has begun consideration of the recommendations they will make to President Roosevelt, who will then decide the Germans’ fate. Complete silence will be preserved on the decision till the White House has issued a statement. Should they suffer execution, it is very likely the news will not be released till after the event. It is commonly believed here that death will be prescribed foi' all, possibly excepting George Dasch, who aided the Government in the trial. He is likely to receive a severe prison sentence.
