CRIPPLED CHILDREN
WAIRARAPA BRANCH EXECUTIVE MEETING. ACTIVITIES FOR MONTH. Two new members were elected at the last meeting of the Wairarapa Crippled Children Society’s executive, when the president, Mr S. L. P. Free occupied the chair. Reports were received regarding two babies operated on for cleft palates. Both operations were completely successful. It was decided to send letters of thanks to several members and friends who had assisted the society by giv; ing special training lessons and donating books and toys. Sunday travelling expenses in connection with children visiting specialists in Wellington were approved. Three new cases were reported to the society and one case was transferred to the Wairarapa by the Wellington branch.
The welfare officer’s report foi' the month showed that 196 telephone calls had been made, 23 cases had received attention, 13 homes had been visited, and six visits paid to hospital.
