SENATE INVESTIGATION ■ TASK FOR SUB-COMMITTEE. ABOUT TO VISIT ALASKA. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) ) (Received This Day, 11.1.5 a.m.) WASHINGTON, July 23. The Senate Military Affairs Committee has appointed a special sub-com-mittee composed of Senators Chandler, Wallgren, Holman and Kilgore to investigate the defence of Alaska and the Aleutian Islands. The sub-commit-tee is departing for Alaska soon with a view to clearing up several questions, including that of how the Japanese managed to seize Attu, Kiska and Agattu; further, what the possibilities are of expelling the invaders and making the west coast safe from invasion.
