AYRSHIRE SALE
ARDGOWAN STUD STOCK TOP PRICE FOR BULLS 200 GUINEAS. GOOD AVERAGES RECORDED. Messrs Wright. Stephenson & Co.. Ltd., report having held the second annual sale of Ayrshire bulls and heifers on behalf of Mr James G. Donald, Ardgowan, Featherston, yesterday. There was a big gathering of breeders and cattle went to all parts of the Dominion. The cattle were in excellent order and were a great advertisement for the Ayrshire breed. The offering of 40 head comprised entirely yearling bulls and heifers. Judges considered many of the bulls reached the very top clas, fully the equal of Scotland’s best, while the heifers were fit to found new herds of the best standard. Bidding was very free and the sale went with a swing. Lot 9, Ardgowan Loyal Command. made the top price of 200gns and was bought by Messrs Thomas and Thomas, of Ngahaurepouri. The same buyers also paid GOgns for the yearling heifer, Ardgowan Starmist 11. Mr R. L. Parker, of Pahiatua, bought the top priced heifer for 70gns, this being Lot 25, Ardgowan Elaine. Nineteen bulls were sold and averaged 95gns. The 20 yearling heifers averaged 39gns. Following are particulars of the sales: — Bulls: Ardgowan Dawn Parade. F.
