In the most important judgment since Federation, the Full High Court, by a majority decision, held today that the Federal plan for uniform taxation was valid in its entirety. The Court dismissed the application by the States of Victoria, South Australia, Queensland, and Western Australia for a decree invalidating the Acts on the ground that they were beyond the powers of the Commonwealth Parliament.
