WEDDING

BEETHAM—BARTON. The marriage took place on Saturday afternoon at the residence of the bride’s parents, Titoki Street, Lansdowne. of Barbara Josephine, daughter of Mr and Mrs E. F. Barton, and Ralph Hugh Horsley, only son of Major and the late Mrs Beetham, of Brancepeth, Masterton. The ceremony was performed by the Ven. Archdeacon E. .J. The bride wore a wedding dress of silver brocaded crepe modelled on simple lines and fastened at the neck with a diamond brooch, a gift from the bridegroom’s father. Her veil was of limerick lace, originally worn by the bride’s great great grandmother, and was held in place by white camelias. Her bouquet was of camelias, friesias and maidenhair fern. The bride was attended by one bridesmaid, Miss Isabelle Bennett, of Otahuao, who w’ore a gown of delphinium blue chiffon, with a headdress and bouquet of pale pink camelias. Sergeant Arthur Morrison, of the Ist New Zealand Army Tank Brigade, was best man. Mrs Barton received the guests, wearing a Burgundy ensemble with hat to match and carrying a bouquet in red tonings. The bride left on her honeymoon wearing an old rose angora dress with a halo hat to match, and a fur cape, a gift from the bridegroom.
