RACEHORSE BEAULIVRE
TO BE SENT BACK TO NEW ZEALAND. A STUD BOOK PROBLEM. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) (Received This Day, 9.45 a.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. Beaulivre is to be sent back to New Zealand at the earliest opportunity. His owner, Mr E. C. Harnett, will endeavour to arrange for Beaulivre to take up stud duty at one of the leading breeding establishments in the Dominion. An endeavour was made to have Beaulivre’s dam Sharkey included in the Australian studbook but the entry was refused. Although many colonial lines are untraceable but accepted for inclusion in the Australian studbook the line of Sharkey is not one of them. Sharkey and her descendants are, however, accepted by the New Zealand studbook. Any of Beaulivre’s progeny born in New Zealand will be accepted by the New Zealand studbook, and may be nominated and race in the Australian Jockey Club’s Derby, but none of his progeny born in Australia could be nominated for the Derby.
