A delegation of C. 1.0. unionists headed by Mr Joseph Curran, president of the National Maritime Union, urged President Roosevelt and members of Congress to open up a new front in Europe immediately. The delegates claimed to represent 1,000,000 workers in New York State. Eight delegates presented a statement to the White House, and 70 others called on New York Congressional representatives asking for support. Mr Curran declared to the Press that Britain and America jointly possess sufficient shipping to support a European expeditionary force.
