FEATHERSTON

UNITED SERVICE WELL-ATTENDED GATHERING. (“Times-Age” Special.) The united service held in the Cosy Theatre last evening was well attended. The speaker was the Rev. J. R. Higgs. The lessons were read by Padre Captain Morgan, and the prayers led by the Rev. W. S. Young. The combined choirs rendered the anthem, “All through the love of God our Saviour, all will be. well.” The accompanist was Mrs R. H Allen. After the service a short concert was given, those taking part being the choir, Misses J. Allen and J. Hunter, and Mrs Skipage. Soldiers’ Dance. The soldiers’ dance held on Saturday night was very succesful, there being a good attendance. The music was supplied by Mr S. Te Tau’s orchestra, assisted by soldiers. Extras were played by Drivers E. C. Smith and E. Thompson. Mr F. Talbot was the M.C. The spot dance was won by Pte. Elliot and Miss Rasmussen. The supper arrangements were in the hands of the JuniorPatriotic Committee. Personal Items. The funeral of the late Mrs E. Cundy took place at the Featherston Cemetery on Saturday afternoon, when there was a representative attendance of mourners. The services at St. John’s Church and the graveside were conducted by the Rev. J. R. Higgs. The pall-bearers were Messrs G. J. Gillies, J. W. Card,' J. H. Tilson, A. C. Pearce, D. S. Warren and Trevor Plume. COSY THEATRE “LOVE CRAZY.” On Wednesday night there will be shown an excellent comedy, “Love Crazy,” featuring Myrna Loy and William Powell. Powell was never more irresistibly funny than in his “crazy” portrayal and Miss Loy is ideal as the scandalised wife. Gail Patrick plays the “other woman” with conviction, and Jack Carson adds hilarity as the suitor who turns up after the separation.
