Among those missing in recent operations is Lieut. James D. K. Logan, of Masterton, who is a son of the Iqte Mr D. K. Logan, and a brother of Captain J. Logan, of Masterton. At St. Peter's Anglican Church, Pahiatua, recently, Moya Joy, youngest daughter of Mr and the late Mrs W. H. Murch, of Pahiatua, was married to Gordon Matthew, eldest son of Mrs and the late Mr D. U. Gunn, of Pahiatua. The bridesmaid was Mis's Joan Much, sister of the bride, and the best man was Pte. Doug. Gunn. A report of a court-martial held in Suva recently stated that the president of the court was Brigadier F. L. Hunt, N.Z.S.C. This is the first published advice received in New Zealand of the appointment of this officer to the rank of brigadier. Brigadier Hunt is one of the best-known regular soldiers in New Zealand, having served in many areas from 1919 to 1939. His association with the Army extends over 30 years. He began as a Dunedin City Guards volunteer in 1909, joined the Territorial Force when it started in 1911, and was commissioned. He went to the Great War, as lieutenant, with the sth Reinforcement, Otago Regiment, and was severely wounded on Gallipoli. He was mentioned in dispatches. After being invalided to England, he returned to New Zealand and was appointed to the New Zealand Staff Corps. When the present war began he was area officer, No. 5 area (Wellington district and Hutt Valley).
