GALE IN CARTERTON
PORTION OF BUILDINGS UNROOFED. ELECTRIC LIGHT WIRES CUT. A fierce wind in Carterton this morning blew off the front portion of the W.F.C.A’s. ironmongery department roof. The roof in falling, cut the electric light wires, which had to be deadened by the Wairarapa Electric Power Board to save further trouble. The roof of the Wairarapa Brick and Tile Co's, works also suffered badly, portion being torn off by the wind.
