HANKOW BOMBED
BY AMERICAN PLANES WITH SATISFACTORY RESULTS. CHINESE ACTIVITY CONTINUING. (By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright) (Received his Day, 12.20 p.m.) CHUNGKING, July 17. The Chinese report continuing activity in Chekiang, Kiangsi, Kwangtung and Suiyuan provinces, without major changes. The Central News states the Chinese recaptured a strategic river town 31 miles southward of Ninchang. General Stilwell’s communique reports that United States bombers, escorted by fighters, attacked Hankow, with very satisfactory results.
