SALE AT FEILDING GOOD DEMAND FOR STORE SHEEP. COMPETITION FOR RUN CATTLE. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) FEILDING, July 17. Only the best lines of fat sheep reached last Friday’s high level at the stock sale today, when a heavy yarding was offered. Prime ewes sold particularly well. There was a good sale of store sheep, specially hoggets, though in some cases vendors were not prepared to meet the market. There was a small yarding of ewes in lamb and not much inquiry. A fairly sound sale of run cattle occurred and most of the pens offered changed hands. Young cattle sold verv well. A medium yarding of fat cattle met with a good sale. Ox beef sold at about 27s Gd per 1001 b., and heifer beef close to the same figure. There was a good sale of dairy cattle, for which the market is quite awake. The range of prices is as follows: — Fat wethers, prime 32s lOd to 33s Id. extra heavy 33s 4d, prime black faces to 28s lOd, prime lambs 22s 4d to 24s 4d, light from 17s Id, prime heavy maiden ewes 24s lOd, very good lines to 235, good from 19s lOd to 21s 4d. Store sheep: B.f. lambs, good 17s 9d to 18s Gd other from 14s. wether lambs, good, to 20s 2d. fair 17s 9d to 18s Bd, store wethers 27s Gd, two-tooth ewes in lamb to 325. Dairy cattle: Springing cows £6 5s to £lO ss. heifers to £9 ss, weaner Jersey heifers £3 12s, yearling heifers £3 2s Gd. Run cattle: P.A. weaner steers £5 10s to £6, two-year ditto £7 4s to £8 15s, heifers £5 14s, cows £5 17s, Hereford steers £5 18s Gd to £7 15s, heifers £5 17s. mixed coloured cows £5 18s, Jersey bullocks to £8 Bs, fat cows, prime beef breeds, £7 12s Gd to £9 ss, prime Hereford cows £7 2s Gd to £8 2s Gd, heifers, light prime, to £8 17s 6d, prime P.A. bullocks, £ll 10s.
