FOR SUPPOSED ENEMY PARACHUTISTS IN NEW YORK STATE. NEAR PRESIDENT’S COUNTRY HOME. (By Telegraph—-Press Association—Copyright) (Received This Day, 12.20 p.m.) NEW- YORK, July 17. Army and State police are making a widespread search in the Rhinebeck district of New York State, aftbr a report that several parachutes were seen descending in the area late yesterday afternoon. The Rhinebeck district is not far from Hyde Park, where President Roosevelt has his country home. The police broadcast an alarm ordering patrols along the Hudson River to halt all cars and check them thoroughly. The Army stated that thus far there is no confirmation of the report, and as far as the Army knew there was no opportunity for parachutists to land.
