HOSPITAL BOARD
BUSINESS AT TODAY’S MEETING. LIGHT DUTIES FOR PATIENTS IN BUCHANAN WARD. The monthly meeting of the Wairarapa Hospital Board was held today, the chairman, Mr H. H. Mawley, presiding. . . The board passed a motion, requesting the ambulatory patients in Buchanan Ward, Greytown, to assist with the work of the ward and with other light duties, as a war effort owing to a shortage of staff. The Manuaging-Secretary, Mr Norman Lee, reporting on the financial position of the board for the P e ™ from April 1 to June 30, stated that maintenance expenditure was in excess of receipts by £366. On capital account there was a credit balance of £67. There was a net credit balance of £2BO. The aggregate maintenance expenditure on the four hospitals was. £lOOB below the proportional estimate.
